OPO Crew Request # 24-120 Circumnavigation - XXXXXX is an old friend that sailed in the NARC Rally with our fleet for ten plus years. He owns a Bill Tripp designed 1973 Hinckley 48 yawl that he keeps up to date and in good shape. On November One 2025 he plans to sail around the world leaving from Newport RI. He is looking for one crew to commit to the passage which should take 18 months. Since this would be a big commitment for both the skipper and the crew (there would be other crew who might join for part of the circumnavigation but only one or two at most). He would like to invite potential crew who might be interested in joining him the 18 months to first “interview” with a free shorter passage. He just sailed the boat from Newport RI to SXM this past month. He will be in the Caribbean until February. He has the following two passages planned to get the boat back north for the summer and get ready for the big go-round. 15 Feb 2025 - Sint Maarten to Stuart Florida. One week - 1,100 miles. 1 May 2025 - Stuart Florida to Newport RI May. One week - 950 miles. The passages in Feb and May are free with all onboard boat expenses included, but you end to get to and from the boat. If all goes well and you wish to talk more with him about joining him for the 18 months starting Nov 2025, then he is willing to talk about a weekly or monthly stipend of about $125 a week or $1000 a month to commit to a long-term position to be his 1st mate and enjoy an adventure of a lifetime.
