7/21/2024 from Jamestown RI to Azores, Portugal on a Cape Dory 36

OPO Crew Request # 24-76 Boat owner XXXXXX is looking for one more crew to join him for this three-week late season passage. The boat is a 1986 Cape Dory 36 Cutter named XXXXXX. He has been planning this passage for a couple of years and has been getting the boat ready. I spoke with him briefly yesterday. The crew he thought he had joining him seems to be backing out so he reached out to me for any good crew who would like to join him. He met me at the Newport Boat Show a couple years back. This is a little late in the season to be departing, but with long-range forecasting the passage should be safe. He plans to leave the boat in the Azores for the winter and then go back next season to cruise the islands. He can send you pictures of the boat and of course you should go meet him and see the boat at the Clark Shipyard in Jamestown right next to Jamestown Boat yard where Avocation is. He Adds: I have USCG Captain, with extensive offshore experience: Extensive refit 2024, new RAYMARINE electronics, radar, AIS, satellite, professionally installed by ABYC electrician, new sails, standing rigging and Hydrovane , 2 The passage is free with all onboard boat expenses and provision included, but you need to get to and from the boat and have money for shoreside meals and drinks. If interested please e-mail him at XXXXX@XXXX
