11/1/2023 from Hampton VA to Antigua on a Via Marine 42

OPO Crew Request # 23-104 Boat owner and skipper XXXXXX is looking for crew for a total of four crew for his passage south this year. He is signed up for the Salty Dawg Rally and will be following their lead. Sailing with a big group has advantages. His boat, named Les Noble, is a 1986 Via Marine 42'. French build aluminum monohull with dual swing keels. Can beach it with keels up. I just got off the phone with him. Sounds like a nice guy with hands on experience. He has been doing a lot of work to get the boat ready and she should be a solid boat with nearly new sails, recently relaunched with a new bottom paint. XXXXXX will be at the Annapolis Boat Show for a week at least and would ideally like to meet any interested OPO crew members who will be at the show are interested in joining him towards the end of October for the non-stop passage from Hampton to Antigua. He e-mails that: He took the boat from Halifax to Rockland, ME then Hampton, VA for 5 year offshore fit-out. Launched a year ago and sailed back to Halifax with 2 crew and picked up new headsail and staysail and back to Hampton with stops at major cities in each direction. Then solo to Dry Tortugas and back to Hampton before hurricane season. Nice 4 day leg from Fort Lauderdale to Beaufort using Gulf Stream, his longest offshore leg and record 200 NM day. He just finished bottom job and couple other projects. He is new to cruising and offshore, so looking for experienced crew. Dry boat until landfall. Gear: single Airhead, Honda i2200 generator, home built watermaker, B and G zeus3 chartplotter, 4G Radar, Forward scan, AIS, SSB, VHF, 6 man liferaft, Iridium GO, Predict wind, Pypilot auto helm (upgrading to hydraulic ram and B and G). As usual all onboard boat expenses and provisioning is provided. You need to get to and from the boat and we recommend that you meet XXXXXX and the boat before booking flights home. You should also have money for meals and drinks ashore and for rally socials. If interested in joining him please send your sailing resume and contact information to him at XXXXX@XXXX
