11/29/2022 from Norfolk VA to Charleston SC on a Ohlson

OPO e-mail # 22-151  Boat owner and skipper XXXXXX has a 1958 Ohlson 35-footer named Halcyon. He is looking for one or two crew for a total of 3 crew. He got crew from us for his first leg from XXXXXX to the XXXXXX It worked out well. The plan is to take the ICW to Beaufort NC or Southport NC, then sail to Charleston in open water. This time of year it will take about 4 days down the ICR and then another one to two days offshore to get to Charleston. Jeff Adds; Halcyon is a joy to sail. She is a wood boat built in Sweden in 1958 double planked from oak and mahogany. She had an extensive refit done by XXXXXX in 2000 and is in great condition. I recently sailed her Halcyon with my wife from NYC up to Maine and back. I'm looking for deliver crew to help me sail the boat from NYC to Charleston SC leaving around 11/2 depending on the weather window. The boat is well equipped with safety equipment, flares, AIS, radar, jacklines, epirb etc.... I spoke with Jeff before his first “crew request”. He sounds like a very nice guy and loves his boat. Jeff has made the passage several times north and south. Jeff is an experienced sailor with several long offshore crossing under him. The passage is free with onboard expenses included, but you should plan to get yourself to and from the boat or coordinate with the other crew. If interested please send your sailing resume to him at XXXXX@XXXX
