11/1/2022 from Charleston SC to Sint Maartin on a Catamaran

OPO e-mail # 22-88 Boat owner and skipper XXXXXX has a new 2021 Fountaine Pajot - Elba 45 named Luca. He is looking for three crew for a total of 4 for the passage. His wife and two young children will fly down after you arrive. I spoke with him today and he sounds like a good guy. Flying his wife and two young children proves he is a smart guy who knows it is better to get OPO crew than take his family offshore in the fall. He would like crew to show up a day or two before the November 1st departure so you will be on standby for a weather window. The sail should take about 9 days. With one or two days at the other end to clean up and have a drink on the beach it will be a 12 to 14 day commitment. XXXXXX previously owned a Beneteau 36 that he sailed out of St Augustine FL for roughly 4 years. He has cruised Florida to the Exumas and back to St Augustine, then to Charleston with this boat. He is looking for experienced crew who have a strong enough resume to pass muster with his insurance company (A more common occurrence as the insurance industry gets more stringent.) and who can stand a solo watch if necessary. He adds: Luca is a 2021 Fountaine Pajot 45 catamaran. She is the Owner's version, with owner's suite and two guest staterooms. The boat is fitted out for cruising, with A/C, 2000W of solar, Elvstrom sails Screecher, OC350 tender, full helm and cockpit enclosure, water maker, etc. She is well equipped. EPIRB, deckvest lifejackets with MOB for all crew, Bivvy satellite communicator, Garmin inreach, Iridium Go satellite communicator, multiple handheld VHFs, ACR ditchbag, flares, multiple MOB throwables, Lifesling, Liferaft The passage is free with all onboard provisioning and boat expenses included, but as usual you need to get to and from the boat and have money for meals and drinks ashore at each end. If interested please send your sailing resume to XXXXXX at XXXXX@XXXX
