Bavaria Vision 42

OPO e-mail # 22-85 Boat owner and skipper XXXXXX is looking for two more crew...

10/30/2022 from Hampton, VA to Antigua on a Bavaria Vision 42

OPO e-mail # 22-85 Boat owner and skipper XXXXXX is looking for two more crew for a total crew of 4 for his passage south this year. He has a very well equipped 2015 Bavaria Vision 42 named XXXXXX. He has three East coast to Bermuda crossings including with this boat in the most recent Newport to Bermuda Race. He has one other crew so is looking for two more. Crew need to have enough experience to pass muster with his insurance company. The boat will be sailing in the SDR departing from the Chesapeake Bay and sailing directly to Antigua. Departure date is subject to weather so you want to make sure you have the time built in for any delays. The sail will take about 10 to 12 days at most and you will want time to help clean up and spend a day or two with the rally festivities at the end so do not be on a tight deadline. I spoke with him this morning. He adds: The boat is a very offshore capable boat, with added Solent stay for heavy-weather and storm jobs. Completed the 2022 Newport-Bermuda Race and return. We will be participating in the Salty Dawg Sailing Association Rally to the Caribbean. Need offshore experience due to insurance restrictions. The passage is free with all onboard expenses included, but you need to get to and from the boat and have money for meal and drinks ashore outside of the rally. Dr. Fortin adds that he is a vegetarian but will provide meat meals for those who aren't. To me that means plan to do some cooking in the galley if you want to eat what you prefer. There is plenty of time to plan a visit to see the boat and meet each other before departure if that is possible. But he would like to speak with potential crew now so he can make sure his insurance will be in place and that he has a good crew committed to the adventure. If interested please e-mail him your sailing resume atXXXXX@XXXX
