Message Board: Sailing Opportunities

Non-OPO members are welcome to view our message board. You will notice that we do not post contact information. If you think you are or would have been interested in sailing aboard one of the offshore passage opportunities than it is a good indication that you should join OPO. Once you become a member you do not need to come back to the message board as the opportunities will be e-mailed to you as they come up.

In seconds you can become an OPO member like so many other pleased captains and crew.

5/31/2021 from Fort Lauderdale FL to Mathews VA on a Beneteau 46

OPO e-mail # 21-10 Fort Lauderdale FL to Mathews VA -Boat owner and skipper OPOOPO is looking for one or maybe two crew to join him for a passage from Florida to VA on a 2000 Beneteau 46 named “OPOOPO. The passage is about 700 miles and may take as little as 5 days, but allow a little more time for getting ready to depart and clean up after arrival. He has owned the boat for 20 years. Since 1986 he has sailed the waters in the Caribbean and Bahamas on this and other boats. He has two friends already lined up and is looking for one or possibly two crew to join them. He adds: “Two other friends , one with much offshore experience, another with much coastal experience” He plans a mostly offshore passage at this best time of year to make the passage north at the end of May and early June after the weather has settled down. The boat as a liferaft, radar SSB etc. He has been sailing for almost 20 years, has owned other boats in the past and has owned this one for (how long?). This is not his first offshore passage on this boat. (Have you made this passage before on this boat? Sounds like it) He heard about us through a fellow sailor (Was it an OPO Members?) The passage is free with onboard expenses included, but you need to get to and from the boat and have money for shoreside meals. If interested please e-mail him at XXXXX@XXXX
