Message Board: Sailing Opportunities

Non-OPO members are welcome to view our message board. You will notice that we do not post contact information. If you think you are or would have been interested in sailing aboard one of the offshore passage opportunities than it is a good indication that you should join OPO. Once you become a member you do not need to come back to the message board as the opportunities will be e-mailed to you as they come up.

In seconds you can become an OPO member like so many other pleased captains and crew.

NOTICE:
Given the world-wide health concerns of COVID-19, we have suspended the issuance of crew requests. However, we can match members who are ready and able to travel. And we are still accepting crew requests from boat owners. Please contact us with any questions.

11/4/2020 from Newport RI to USVI on a Dynamique 62

OPO e-mail # 20-62 Boat owner and skipper OPOOPO owns a very nice Dynamique 62 named Anahita. We sent out a crew request for him last year when he had plans to go Trans-Atlantic from the Caribbean, but the pandemic cancelled those plans. He had crew lined up to depart from Newport, but the crew had to drop out for family problems. So he is looking for one more crew. Bijan has owned Anahita since 2004 and has made 6 Trans-Atlantics with this boat. She has been very well maintained. He plans to depart around November 5th so you will need to arrive a day or two before. The boat is a fast boat so the passage may take as little as 9 days, but have extra time built in for a weather delay and travel time. He asks for crew with “with blue water sailing experience, and immunity to sea sickness.” The passage is free with all onboard expenses included, but you need to get to and from the boat. If interested please e-mail your sailing resume to him at XXXXX@XXXX He also has a web site at www.UUUUU.com
