Message Board: Sailing Opportunities

Non-OPO members are welcome to view our message board. You will notice that we do not post contact information. If you think you are or would have been interested in sailing aboard one of the offshore passage opportunities than it is a good indication that you should join OPO. Once you become a member you do not need to come back to the message board as the opportunities will be e-mailed to you as they come up.

In seconds you can become an OPO member like so many other pleased captains and crew.

Given the world-wide health concerns of COVID-19, we have suspended the issuance of crew requests. However, we can match members who are ready and able to travel. And we are still accepting crew requests from boat owners. Please contact us with any questions.

4/23/2020 from St. Maarten to Trinidad with a stop in Grenada on a Swan 46

OPO e-mail # 20-25 Good friends and very nice people OPOOPO and OPOOPO are looking for one experienced crew to join them on their annual sail back south to Trinidad. They leave there boat there for the offseason below the hurricane belt. They keep there boat near Avocation each winter and we have gotten to know them well. The boat is a very nice and well maintained Swan 46 named “Le Reve” that is one of the most beautiful Swan 46’s built for a wealthy client when first new. The crew would fly in a day or two early to get settled on the boat in St. Maarten and then depart about April 23rd. He explains more in his own words.: “Swan 46 needs one crew person to assist in moving vessel from St. Maarten directly to Grenada about 2 1/2 day trip. Then stopover in Grenada for 2 or 3 days and then to Trinidad. Must have offshore experience and be capable of standing watch.” The passage is free with all onboard expenses incurred during trip paid for by owner. You have to pay your travel to and from the boat and have money for shore side meals and drinks. If interested please e-mail your sailing resume and contact information to XXXXX@XXXX
