How do I create my own account?
To create your own account, click on the orange "Join" button in the upper-right corner of the website.
Enter your EMail Address and a password. You will receive an email containing a confirmation link ensuring you have access to the provided EMail Address and no typos occurred.
Upon clicking the confirmation link, your account will become active. If you do not receive the confirmation email, please check your spam or junk folders--and then add email@example.com as an authorized sender.
Why do I need to create an account?
To view the sailing opportunities, all users of www.sailopo.com are required to create an account. This enables us to share upcoming sailing opportunities with our members via email.
I forgot my password—what should I do?
Select the "Help" button in the upper right hand corner of the page. Then enter your EMail Address and your password will be sent to you via email.
What services do paying members receive?
Paying members can not only view the sailing opportunities, but they are also provided with the contact information of Boat Owners/Captain and Crew.
Paying members can also view the profiles of other OPO members once a member's OPO Nickname is shared with you.
How much does it cost to join?
Joining is free. But to obtain the contact information for sailing opportunities and to be able to view the profiles of other OPO members, the Initial membership fee is $199.00. Gold membership is $150.00, and annual membership Renewal is $125.00. Click here to see all membership options.
How do I become a paying member?
First, create your own account and click upon the confirmation link within the received email to activate your account.
Next, log-in and visit OPO's ONLINE STORE by clicking on the credit card graphics. Then select the desired membership and include it within your shopping cart and follow the checkout procedure. It's fast, easy, and secure.
How do I update my sailing resume/profile/CV?
Log-in to your account and select "Update Profile" under the "Account" navigational menu.
Then provide your:
- Contact information
- Photo (optional)
- Skills and abilities
You can then create and maintain your online sea log -- essential for U.S. Coast Guard certification.
You can also then indicate if you would like to share your profile with other OPO members.
Do I have to share my profile with other members?
No. Members can create their own online profile and maintain their sea log without sharing this information. However, this information is extremely helpful when searching for Crew or sailing opportunities.
How do I locate Crew for my upcoming trip?
Captains and Boat Owners should email firstname.lastname@example.org with their specific requests -- including the starting and ending ports, dates, boat type, and the type of crew you seek.
How do I locate Captains/Boat Owners who need Crew?
Crew can also locate Captains and inquire if they are in need of Crew. Please refer to the instructions immediately above.
